Our Story

Rasm By Muskaan is not just a brand; it’s a journey built on family, creativity, and passion. Our story began three generations ago in the heart of Varanasi, where my maternal family started a wholesale business focused on the timeless beauty of Banarasi sarees. Growing up surrounded by this rich heritage, I developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and artistry that make these sarees so special.
This dream led to the creation of Rasm By Muskaan. It’s a place where the rich tradition of Banarasi sarees meets fresh, creative designs, resulting in pieces that feel timeless and exclusive. While deeply rooted in the legacy of our family’s wholesale business, Rasm By Muskaan is about connecting directly with each customer, offering sarees that feel personal, unique, and special. Through this brand, we honor our roots and bring a fresh perspective to Indian textiles, creating sarees that are as unique as the people who wear them.
Located in the heart of Varanasi, Rasm By Muskaan is a tribute to the enduring charm of Banarasi sarees and the individuality of every customer.

 Muskaan's Story
Although I initially pursued a bachelor’s degree in journalism, life had other plans for me. As I neared the end of my studies, I realized my heart was in textiles and fashion. That’s when I decided to follow my passion and study fashion and textile design at NIFT. After graduating, I worked with some of the top celebrity designers, gaining valuable experience and learning the intricacies of design and creativity.
Even while working, I always dreamed of doing something of my own. I wanted to reimagine the Banarasi saree—not just as a product of tradition, but as a personal style statement. I knew I didn’t want to follow the path of wholesale, which focuses more on business and less on creativity. Instead, I envisioned creating sarees with only a limited number of each design, ensuring that what every person owns feels truly special.
Rasm By Muskaan is my personal journey—my way of celebrating our heritage while making it meaningful for today’s world. It reflects my belief that every saree can tell a story, blending tradition with a touch of individuality.
